How do I type in multiplayer?

How do I type in multiplayer? The multiplayer servers are text chat & I am 13 or older, but for some reason I can't figure out how to type in the chat box. I have pressed virtually every key on my keyboard but nothing pops up to type in it. My mouse clicker disappears when I play wolfquest, but only appears when I'm using the emotes panel, loading a game, or on the home page, which makes typing or dragging the chat box impossible.
Help please.

Multiplayer chat works almost exactly the same as it did in 2.7. Press 'C' to open the chatbox, and Enter to send your message. Pressing the comma key should unlock and display your mouse cursor.
