I've played many horrible games in the past, all by accident. I've purposely purged them all from memory, except for one that I can't seem to forget for some reason.

Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life (for Gamecube/PS2.)

Unlike in previous Harvest Moon games, this one didn't have any festivals, didn't have horse racing, didn't have any contests, no upgrades to your barn/coop, you could only harvest crops once, 1 game year is only 30 days (as opposed to 120 days), the time went by achingly slowly, there was absolutely nothing to do in your village, only 3 marriage candidates (all of them bleh and zero depth to the characters), and oh yeah...grapes grew on trees.

They took everyone that people loved about the Harvest Moon games, and utterly destroyed it.

Assassins Creed: Unity
One of the most broken games I've played. I never finished it.

I know a lot of people love red dead redemption but...meh. it was entertaining for a while but I got really bored really fast. People describe the ending as so heartbreaking and I guess it was sad but I never grew on John as a character.
Also dragon age: inquisition was massive let down lol. I feel the only thing DA does right consistently is their characters.
Really though I don't know if I've ever reallyreally hated a game. These were just let downs

  • It's generally quite hard to make a game that I won't enjoy as long as it's not broken and crashing. Graphics generally don't bother me, even the odd glitch or stupid storyline won't make me turn tail as long as it's trying (cough Goat Simulator cough) buuuuuuut...

    Zoo Tycoon for Xbox

It's not horrible or broken or anything, just extremely boring. Pretty, but boring.
Ah well, at least you can do some serious drifting in the buggy. Watch out, peons! muahaha

Basically any game that prevents you from progressing with hours-long cooldown timers or an equivalent thereof. I don't mind some real-time elements, but if there is absolutely nothing to do after five minutes unless you shell out money it grows old for me really, really quickly.

Some DS adaptations of other games were pretty terrible, too. Seeing Zoo Tycoon mentioned reminded me of that.

Halo Wars. I loved every other Halo game, especially Halo: Reach, but Halo Wars... just a no for me.

A bunch of vague MMOs out there. Tera was awful, so was the original Guild Wars.

Gone Home. It really irritated me, the way you found out what happened, but it never went past that. I didn't think it went into depth about anything.

Jurassic Park Builder, not to be confused with Jurassic Park III: Park Builder for the GameBoy Advance, which was released on mobile devices and a Facebook app for PC users. While the latter was by no means a bad game once you figured out how to play it properly and make a functional park and all, the former is an irredeemable pay-to-win game because of the fact the only true park building aspect of it revolves around the various types of buildings or structures you can place alongside the animal enclosures. It also has an arena mode which you can use to acquire extra resources... but this is where the pay-to-win aspect of the game comes in, since the strongest animals to use in the arena modes of the game are pretty much all locked behind a paywall. Not only that, but the aquatic and glacial parks you can unlock at certain levels make it near impossible to obtain certain animals unless you shill out money for the in-game currency to ensure you'll get their DNA finds, which is more or less a crime because almost every major animal in these two zones are locked away by this method of finding DNA.

  • Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
I hate on-the-rails shooters so much.
