Re: What was the last video game you purchased?
Picked up Dragon's Dogma to while away some hours since I'm ill from allergies.

Re: Another wolf computer game.
Aayyy Nordue how you bean. Just opened the game and yeah there are some camper/non hostile humans, but it's hard to say because I got shot by a hunter in a jacket not long after seeing them. I think I might've confused mission parameters with one from LION, though. There is some missing cub missions...

Re: Guidelines for Indie Games
Beyond this mild suggestion to somewhat expand on an ideal 'stage in development' to be at before posting, this is pretty short, sweet and to the point. It's pretty easy to get a bit inflated over a project in its early days, especially if one's just started. I'd suggest at least having something li...

Re: Another wolf computer game.
Actually I'm pretty sure there are non-aggressive human sprites in WOLF, but they're uncommon and usually have a rifle armed human somewhere nearby. I'm pretty sure there's a scenario/mission/non-sandbox oriented challenge that involves wolf pups being taken by campers and you have to find them, but...

Shusuke -> RoarOriole
I've changed pseudonym over the years, so the chance to keep it even across as many boards as possible is neat.

Re: New version: Pictures and more
You should probably also find a renderer that makes the sharp point on the shoulder softer. (that would probably be pc only. maybe as an option to switch on and off?) Yeah, that's always bugged me--but only in screenshots, not in actual gameplay. But now with the fur shader, I'm not sure how much w...

Re: New version: Pictures and more
The wolf model fits for what it was made for, but in my opinion, time has not been kind to it and compared to the low poly models I make and work with these days (usually anywhere between 1200-3500 poly due to my low-power computer), they are visually outdated to a degree.

Third one on the far right seems to express it the most. The pose is more dynamic and makes it more obvious what the dog is doing compared to the other ones.

Re: New version: game ending
Have a potentially quick "Settling In" mission where the player must feed the pups one last time and then manually howl to prompt the game's ending. The pups would become "locked" or would "stay put" at the summer location while the player gets food if they need it and then the instructions could be...

Re: New version: Pictures
I'm gonna bit a bit blunt here and say that the extra fur effects look a bit gaudy up close, but seeing as you can't really zoom in that close in-game (if I remember), then farther away and in normal camera settings, it'd work fine. :'D The radio collar also looks a bit...shiny? Reflective? I can't ...

Re: WQ: Tablet version: Wolf customization options
If the camera controls are the same as I remember they are in the game then control over facial expressions would be useless. No controllable flycam and very hard to see and no good angles for screenshots. Also, considering that only the Amethyst Mountain portion of the app is going to be free, such...

Re: New version: How hard should raising pups be?
Randomizing the location of the rendezvous point for the summer den each playthrough would alter the path you'd have to take to get to your location and potentially warrant a more difficult experience on a luck based scale. The distance from each densite could be altered by how high the player set t...

Re: New version: multiplayer and chatting
This is long potential jargon and I'm under a fever so forgive me if it's all jumbled and disorganized. How would one know which words/sentences to ban? Eventually when people know what words trigger the boot, they may still use other typical words to piece together inappropriate stuff they're tryi...

Re: New version: multiplayer and chatting
I think a good idea would be to try and redraw/redifine the lines between inappropriate and kid friendly. With the way that technology and media has advanced over the years, kids these days see, hear, and even speak in ways that normally wouldn't be imagined about a few decades prior. I've seen kids...

Re: WQ: Tablet version: Wolf customization options
More specific regions for the tint feature already available in the game would be nice, or a possible addition to it, perhaps? Example, when you choose the white/arctic pelt, changing the fur's 'tint' simply makes it solid gray, brown or tan (or was one of them liver? I can never tell). An additiona...
