Soot's ears twitched to the voices around him as he stirred. As he raised his head, he tried to blink away the sleepiness in his eyes. He realized the snowfall had gotten thicker, and was glad he wasn't alone in a storm like this.

Soot nodded and glanced to Azalea as she spoke. He nestled deeper as the snow began to fall, and twitched his ear as a snowflake landed on it. Finally, he rested his head and closed his eyes.

Soot stumbled though the snow over to Blackburn, where he curled up next to him and let out a yawn. The young pup glanced up at the sky, wondering if it really was going to snow again. "Where are you all going?" he asked the group.

Soot hesitated for a brief moment, but nodded. A smile stretched across his maw as he cheerily replied "Okay!" He bounded after Blackburn as he returned to the group of wolves, noticing how tired some of them looked after the struggle of crossing the water.

Soot leaned back as Blackburn bent down to smell him, but he quickly relaxed. He didn't seem like he was looking to hurt him, or he would have already done so. With a shiver to prove his point, Soot nodded.

Soot was torn between not wanting to tell this stranger anything, and admitting his real situation. After a moment, he flattened his ears and absentmindedly dug at the snow with his paw. "I think I'm lost," he answered quietly, even though that much seemed obvious.

"I asked you first," Soot complained, though he quickly shook his head. "Soot," he replied, mustering as much confidence as he could. He eyed the large wolf's companions as though he was unsure.

-Revan-

Soot seemed to shy away from Blackburn for a moment, until he changed his mind and held his head high, like a pack leader might. "Who are you?" he demanded, though it came as more of a squeak.

Soot watched the figures moving down below the ridge, having just witnessed their struggle through the icy water. The young pup carefully picked his way down to them to get a closer look, but stopped a good length away. He didn't say anything, but seemed a little confused.
