Private Inbox Message-spam alert?

Hey everyone, Wow it been a long time but I have been getting 'new message' alerts in my email inbox that says its from Wolfquest when really it is empty. I think it may be spam bots so just a head's up. Usually the links in the email are an open gateway for privacy breakage in these types of emails...

Re: Dogs And Wolves Do NOT Have A Common Ancestor, Claims Ne

It was an older school of thought that indicated lemurs could be related to cats is I think what river6 meant. It seems to be a popular question in the google search engine when searching for lemur information!

Re: Pups from non-dominant females

Good question! I've read some accounts where the dominant female takes over and basically moves the pups to her den. I think it really depends on how much resources are available to the animals; in poor situations where there may not be enough food the dominant animal may be better off to feed her o...

Re: Female Feeding

During the time wolf pups are born, there is an increase in a hormone that makes all the wolves want to care for the pups at the time. The adult members will feed and care for the pups. Prolactin, a hormone secreted from anterior pituitary lactotrophs, induces both maternal and paternal behavior in ...

Re: Skull Structures

Grey wolf is a common name to the species while mexican wolf, timber wolf, arctic wolf, etc. are sub-species. Sub-species may have varying traits such as skull size or body size than one another but these animals still belong to the same species. Arctic wolves are considerably bigger than those sub-...

Re: Volunteer Position: Mexican Wolf Reintroduction Project

I'm pretty sure I applied to for an internship here two summers ago and I was surprised to get a call back for an interview. The internship was for ~six months I believe and it sounded awesome but I had agreed to go the arctic in the same summer beforehand. Also the internship/volunteer you have to ...

Re: "How I survived a wolf attack"

Interesting article. I'm glad it wasn't just focused on the gory details but mentions what to do when confronted by a wild animal. It was pretty detailed and one of the better written wolf attack articles. I agree that the offending animal should be destroyed for safety concerns. Unless the people p...

The Legend of Lobo

I was skimming through youtube and found the full film of the 1960s Legend of Lobo. I had never heard of this film before but I believe its about the 'King of Currumpaw" wolf who was trapped by Ernest Thompson Seton in New Mexico. The wolf biology in the film is obviously skewed (it IS a Disney film...

Re: PBS Nature's Radioactive Wolves

The people on the phone said they would do a quality check with their blue-ray and DVDs... but still. I could tell it was exactly Lipton's chicken noodle soup , the one in the red and white box... Usually PBS has a web feature about their programs with follow-ups and such. I don't remember these thi...

Re: Off-White

I did/do like Jera. Yes she is Sassy and Snappy but she is probably the most realistic one in terms of behaviour-e.g, she has no kin selection for an orphaned pup! Yes, I used to read it somewhat weekly so it was a bit slow waiting for another page to come out. Maybe I should re-read it sometime. Ev...

I kind of laughed when I read your post Tonbei- the physics of the blood spatter is wrong.... I like the artwork-not a big fan of the story. The artwork keeps me going but I haven't read it lately. I just find the story borring and slow- the character are kind of bland and the plot is predictable. T...

Re: PBS Nature's Radioactive Wolves

I have a funny story about this- I ordered the blue ray version and had to call PBS because there was chicken soup on the disc. Yep, even after I removed the packaging and stuff I opened it up and smelled it- it was exactly the Lipton's chicken noodle soup mix on the inside of the case and disc. I e...
