Re: Announcing WolfQuest 3: Anniversary Edition!
Great news indeed. So, Dave you said the 3.0 release will have a new "codebase". What does that mean? Will we need to download a new executable file, or will it come as a patch to 2.7? (I'm guessing if the game's entire code is being rewritten, an executable would be easier.) Back when I would say I...

Re: Community and Competition
Just want to say, I've had mixed experiences with PvP in other games. On the one hand there are games where PvP is everything, and leads to fierce competition and looking down on newer players; on the other, there's my favorite online game, "Star Pirates". It has a wonderful community, partly, I bel...

Dog Sled Saga
Usually I just pass racing games by, but one day I discovered Dog Sled Saga . Instead of driving a car around a track, here you drive a team of three or more dogs in a straight line. Hey, I can do that. My favorite part of D.S.S is managing my team. Each dog has a fault, favorite thing and an abilit...

Re: Ideas for New Episodes V2
I would also like to suggest that you have a small portion of the proceeds from the game or merch go to the wolf project in Yellowstone or to national parks since of course thats where the game and wolves are based from. People would probably feel more inclined if it were going to another good caus...

Re: Ideas for New Episodes V2
I'd like to suggest fog of war as a way of showing (on the map) which areas a player has and hasn't visited. It would be best to implement this during the development of Episode 3 so the Tower Fall map will be a surprise (unless, you know, someone looks at the area in Google Maps). :P Also, for any ...

Re: If You Were In Charge Of Wolfquest...
I would add- just for the fun of it- a racing mechanic. I've been thinking about holding races to the watchtower in Lost River anyway. (No idea how to balance things so everyone has a fair chance, though.) Also, I would speed up development of the Linux version so players on all three major systems ...

GetThreadContext failed
It seems I'm having the dreaded "GetThreadContext" error. Bug reports go to bugs@wolfquest.org, right?

Re: Predicting Episode 3!
I predict- or I hope- that more Linux users will get interested, prompting management to say, "Let's do a Linux version. Why not?" I also hope there will be prey-marking in multiplayer. "Go get 'em, pack!"
Should I put the new version on WineHQ?

Re: Buying a computer? Some suggestions
Thank you! I'll take a look at these. My old computer has Linux nowadays so it can't handle WQ. And even if it has Windows, I don't know how smooth it would be. Are those what I call "monster machines" (gaming computers)? I mean, does WQ need a gaming computer to run smoothly? I've gotten the singl...

Re: Pack Central FAQ
^ Thank you, Katserin. If you'll recall, under 2.5 you could only make a multi-player character who had the same gender as the one listed on your forum profile. Better safe than sorry.

Re: Pack Central FAQ
There doesn't seem to be anything against it here or in the rules, but is playing as the opposite gender discouraged? I don't mean trans characters, I just wouldn't want to be suspended for creating a female wolf. Also, what are the limitations on poetry and song? The rule against religious content ...

Re: Marketing suggestions?
What about a 'fan kit'? The idea is that you release a set of images and fonts suitable for those who want to make a WolfQuest-related website and have it look like the original.

Re: Ideas for New Episodes V2
I've got a couple of suggestions to do with hunting. First, it would be helpful to be able to mark elk in multi-player: "Everyone go after this one! Take it down!" Maybe the easiest way to implement this would be tying a certain key to a wolf's head icon, which appears above the marked animal's back...

Re: Forum Suggestions V2
I'd like to see the available text colors pruned a bit. Every so often you'll see a post in a shade that forces you to squint at the screen or highlight the text because it just doesn't show well against the site's background. Naturally, people using Greek and other symbols in signatures is a separa...
