Re: The Sight, by David Clement-Davies

It's really good to see this forum is still active. I really enjoy David Clement-davies books both Sight and Fell are exellent reads. Walked into my local libary when I was about 12 and saw the front cover of The sight, after reading it I returned it. Think I must of read that book ten times before ...

Re: Killing wolf pups unpleasant but necessary for control

We don't need to kill the young of grizzly bears, eagles, orca's or any other pedator. Infact cases of problems in the food chain with any other large pedator are very low. The reason wolves come up so much in politics and today's socity is because human feel a urge to mess the food chain about. I t...

Re: Deer Hunting and Nature

Like others have said i dont have anything against deer hunting. As long as hunters dont abuse the power. But i think that people would get more emotionally attached to a animal then a plant or tree. Its hard to compare animals to trees because in human nature we have emotions to things that reponse...

Re: Wolf-Coyote Interaction

I heard the first sound. It was like a low pinched growl mixed with a bark. And then the howl like noise they make. Woah the coyotes dont give up easy.

I didnt think they were that tough. But they did have young so i guess they would be more agressive.

Re: Wolves Returning To Eastern Germany

It is very good to hear that wolves are making a strong comeback in a large country such as germeny. And better fact that humans are willing to live in peace with the canines. I think the law is good that the killers of wolves willl be punished. Just hope that the popluartion will not increase to mu...

Re: Question!

Yes alpha first Beta then Delta and then normal pack members. And normally there is a omega. If both the alpha's die i would think that the Beta wolf/ Pair would become the Alpha. If one of the leaders dies. The other would continue to be Alpha unless another challages the Alpha and wins. But resear...

Re: Wolf urine + guard dog

On the Discovery Channel, the Mythbusters concluded that if one were to completely drench oneself in wolf's urine, you may get past a guard dog. It's plausible, they say. I would like to know the science within this idea. Is it hormones? Or some other substance? On a side note, what do you people w...
