Meet the Competition

Yellowstone has a host of hungry carnivores. Everybody wants a piece of the carcass!

As if it wasn't hard enough taking down an elk to feed your family! Armed with fierce teeth, claws, or loads of patience, there are plenty of Yellowstone animals, big and small, waiting to take your meal. There's a reason why wolves wolf down their food!

While a wolf's biggest worry is other wolves, they never underestimate the dangers of North America's biggest predators: bears and cougars. Coyotes are always harassing and waiting to grab a share. And while smaller scavengers like eagles, foxes, and ravens aren't dangerous to grown wolves, they can easily gobble up your hard-earned kill.

Did we mention dangers to your pups? Most everyone is happy to take out the competition before their teeth get too big.

OMG the models look absolutely amazing! This is one of the best blogs that wolfquest has ever posted! :D :D
Will the cougars interact with the bears?
Edit: i'm guessing those wolves are part of mollies pack? could someone confirm this?
How large will stranger wolf packs be?

This looks amazing. The cougar's muscles looks super realistic along with the bear. I do have a question will cougars climb trees to escape from wolves in wolfquest 3 because that does happen commonly in yellowstone and other areas when a cougar is outnumbered by a pack of wolves.

Man that bear and the cougar look like they will mess you up. The coyotes are ready to cause trouble, and that fox looks real cunning and slick. Those wolves? I'd put them between the cougar and the bear and the coyotes. They're gonna stir up trouble but they can mess you up. I love the music too, very fitting, especially for the heavy hitters (Cougars and bears)

As always I've got major heart eyes for the bear and the sick music, but honestly that fox was the star of the show. The yawn made my heart meltttt <3 Can't wait to be endlessly terrorized by all these guys.

The new cougar and bear models look great! All the new models look much more realistic and lifelike. In fact, I'd argue that they're about as good as the animals you'd see in a AAA title. I can't wait to see what they're like in the actual game!

Ahhh, I really love all the new models, especially the cougar and the bear! Also the fox running in order to keep up with the rest is so cute and hilarious x3

Someday hope to add more ambient animations of NPCs doing their thing (like hunting and tussling with the competition). Right now we are prioritizing their behaviors when they interact with the player wolves.

Stranger wolf packs will probably be 4-8 wolves. We'll see how it goes.

These wolves are just some examples (and not a particular pack).

Climbing trees requires a lot of tricky technical solutions. We hope to add it someday.

Really, really loving all these new models for our competition! And the music goes so well with them, especially that cougar prowl! It's like they're entering a showdown in style!

And that little fox yawn was just adorable XD
