It looks so amazing! The animation, the furs and textures on the model! I noticed that the wolf actually turns it’s head and looked at the calf, which made a pretty nice touch to the animation style. Huge improvements are being made since 2.7!!

Amazing as always. I can imagine it would be fun hunting as a pack, having to work together to separate and take down a calf, especially if it was being protected.

I also loved the shadow from the new wolf model, I think it looked really good when it was sprinting.

I know this is a small detail but I love how the wolf's head actually turns to face the elk while you're chasing it! All those small details that create better realism.

I love the wolf running and elk running animations, especially when the wolf ducks its head down when rearing an elk. Thanks so much for sharing, Dave!!

I think he meant it as a joke. From what I've heard, it'll still be quite a while until the new game is ready. Once they've finished everything, they'll probably want to test it a lot, which will probably take a bit of extra time, but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.
I like what has been done with elk herds, and I noticed the herd was a lot bigger. The herd looks pretty amazing when it scatters, and I love the idea of being able to hunt calves. All these new features will give us so much more freedom and choice, which will surely make the game very enjoyable.[/color]

  • This is too cool! I love how realistic the elk and the wolf running animations are. Definitely a lot of improvement has been made—can't wait to see what other stuff you have in store for us!

These videos have taught me more about nature than school has ever and likely will ever teach me.

This looks great, I didn't know that smol elks would behave like that. I don't really know who to root for when that chase goes on... anyway, it's really cool that you're getting real sciencey with this new version. Keep up the good work!

It's amazing how natural the herd looks when it reassembles near the end of the video, and how much better the wolf model looks! I always look forward to these weekly blog posts, they really make my day!

This kinda blows my mind. Excellent work!

I feel like I should pay for WolfQuest 3 because SO much work is being put into it.

Ditto. We are so fortunate to not just be receiving an update, but a whole new game for free. The degree of programming and thought that goes into each of these small pieces is stunning. Everyone comments on how long development is taking... but look how far the game has come!

I agree, and I'm serious about it. I really want it to be charged for and I am not just saying that as a complement. A lot of hard work and thought is being put into the game so they deserve at least something, and it would fund more episodes. But, I doubt they'll listen to me and do that.
