Busy as Beavers

The holidays are over and we’re as busy as beavers, working on WolfQuest 3. As I mentioned last week, we decided to bring another Unity developer onto the project. After interviewing the top candidates, we’ve decided to hire two more instead of just one! They'll help us speed up the pace of development significantly and let us refine the gameplay even more before release. Once they get settled, we will introduce our new team members.

Speaking of busy beavers, these hard-working rodents will soon be seen in WolfQuest 3! Yes, beavers (Castor canadensis) will be found in all the maps, though especially in Slough Creek and Lost River. Beavers are well known for their skills at felling of trees and building dams and so you’ll also see these beaver signs in the game. Did you know that beaver families living on rivers may build bank dens instead of lodges?

What’s in it for your wolf? Weighing in between 30 and 70 pounds, a beaver would make a decent meal. They are crepuscular so look for them when they are active – in evening and morning. Beavers stick close to creeks and rivers so, even though they aren’t very fleet on land, you’ll need to be clever to catch one.

Oh goodness this looks great! I loovee how you managed to make the water look so real I could almost imagine climbing through the screen for a swim! And the beaver looks smooth and realistic! It will be more than interesting to test skills with a beaver hunt! x3 You guys are awesome! Keep up the good work everyone!
